Cindy: 因为我要跟一个男生去约会.
Yann: 喔，哪个男生那么幸运?
Cindy: 是我同事介绍给我认识的.
Yann: 那你们两个要去哪里约会?
Cindy: 只是一起出去吃个饭. 这样可以让我更进一步地认识他.
Yann: 好，我知道了. 记得不要太晚回家.
Cindy: 嗯，我会记得的.

Raphael: 让我们来解释今天的对话. 第一句是
Kirin: 哇，你今天怎么穿得那么漂亮? 有什么特别的事情吗?
Raphael: 你们记得 穿 是什么意思吗?
Adam: That’s the verb “to wear.”
Raphael: 那 漂亮 是什么意思?
Adam: That means “beautiful.”
Raphael: 所以这个句子是什么意思?
Kirin: 哇，你今天怎么穿得那么漂亮?
Adam: “Why are you so dressed up today?”
Raphael: 然后他继续说
Kirin: 有什么特别的事情吗?
Adam: “Is there anything special going on?”
Raphael: 然后这个女生回答
Kirin: 因为我要跟一个男生去约会.
Raphael: 你们记得 约会 是什么意思吗?
Adam: We saw that in our last lesson meaning “date.”
Kirin: 因为我要跟一个男生去约会.
Adam: “Because I’m going on a date with a boy.”
Raphael: 然后这个男生问
Kirin: 喔，哪个男生那么幸运?
Raphael: 你们记得 幸运 是什么意思吗?
Adam: That means “to be lucky.”
Kirin: 喔，哪个男生那么幸运?
Adam: “Oh, who is the lucky guy?”
Raphael: 然后这个女生回答
Kirin: 是我同事介绍给我认识的.
Raphael: 同事 是什么意思?
Adam: That means “co-worker.”
Raphael: 那 介绍 是什么意思?
Adam: That means “to introduce.”
Kirin: 是我同事介绍给我认识的.
Adam: “My co-worker introduced me to him.”
Raphael: 然后这个男生问
Kirin: 那你们两个要去哪里约会?
Raphael: 这个句子很简单.
Adam: “So where are you two going for your date?”
Kirin: 那你们两个要去哪里约会?
Raphael: 然后这个女生回答
Kirin: 只是一起出去吃个饭.
Adam: The 吃个饭 at the end there is a different way to say 吃饭, giving us “We’re just going for dinner.”
Kirin: 只是一起出去吃个饭.
Raphael: 然后她继续说
Kirin: 这样可以让我更进一步地认识他.
Raphael: 你们记得 更进一步 是什么意思吗?
Adam: We hear that at the top of every lesson when we introduce our
Kirin: 更进一步的中文学习课程.
Adam: So there it means “progressive.” So in our dialogue, the lady is literally saying “this way lets us progressively know each other” as in “this way we can get to know each other better.”
Kirin: 这样可以让我更进一步地认识他.
Raphael: 然后这个男生说
Kirin: 好，我知道了.
Adam: “Ok, I now know.”
Kirin: 记得不要太晚回家.
Adam: “Remember not to go home too late.”
Raphael: 然后这个女生说

Adam: “Yes, I will remember.”
